Frequently Asked Questions
Historic Harrington is a small town with a burgeoning main street business district. Besides The Marketplace, we have a cute and cozy coffee shop, an art gallery and quilt studio, a historic opera house, a newly renovated food mart, and coming soon, a pub with pizza and sandwiches.
Harrington's hospitality is unmatched, with several popular events throughout the year. The Fall Festival in September draws 500 - 1000 people, The annual car show draws hundreds of cars and admirers in May, and in June a new Vintage Country Fair is expected to be another big draw.
Harrington also boasts one of the best 9-hole golf courses in the state. Golfers come from near and far between April and October to play an approachable but challenging round and to enjoy great food in the clubhouse cafe.
How much does it cost to be a Marketplace vendor?
There are two pricing plans at The Marketplace. We provide cashiering and will collect and remit sales tax.
Vendor fee is $150/month approximately 100 square feet of space. The first month’s fee is due prior to move-in; it is deducted from the monthly sales check thereafter. Net sales checks may be picked up on the first Saturday of the month. See terms and conditions.
$20/month vendor fee and 20% of gross sales. Vendor fee and any commission is deducted from monthly vendor check. Space will be allocated by The Marketplace. Net sales checks may be picked up on the 1st Saturday of the month. See Terms and Conditions.
How do you choose vendors?
Our criteria vary but will include such things as a vendor’s product quality, social media presence, their match with our Marketplace personality, experience as a vendor, display & merchandising experience, and our general knowledge of what works in The Marketplace.
We will accept some household goods when the selection matches our vision for The Marketplace experience and/or our values of small business, locally produced, re-used/repurposed, recycled/upcycled.
